Jewelry & Watch EMT ™

Mobile Jewelry & Watch Repair

This is how it all started…

in 1980, Wade DuBois started as an apprentice jeweler and watch repair craftsman at the former Fairfield Mall in Chicopee Massachusetts. He was just 16 years old. In 1988, Wade branched off and opened his first Jewelry & Watch Repair shop “DuBois Jewelers” in the Former Uniroyal building on Grove Street in Chicopee. He built his business and client base and, in 1992, Wade moved back to the Fairfield Mall. In 1996, upon announcement that the Fairfield Mall would be closing and demolished to make way for the Home Depot & Walmart shopping Center, Wade moved his shop to Aldenville on Grattan Street in Chicopee.

In 1998, Wade was offered a position with the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department. Having a passion for helping others, Wade closed his jewelry store business and pursued his dream of being a police officer and Sheriff’s Deputy. In addition to his position with the Sheriff’s Office, Wade attended the Police Academy and joined his local police department as a part-time police officer. In 2019, Wade retired from both departments to return to his love of repairing jewelry and watches.

In January 2019, the Jewelry Medic™ was born. Wade purchased an ambulance and outfitted it with state-of-the-art jewelry and watch repair equipment. After just three months of travelling to customers to repair their watches and gems, Wade started dealing with numbness and tingling in right hand and was initially diagnosed with Peripheral Neuropathy. Worried that this was a progressive disorder, Wade sold his idea, trademark name, ambulance, and website jewelry911.com to Jim and James Matero of Jaymark Jewelers in Cold Spring, NY. Wade re-designed the Jewelry Medic™ logo to include Jim Matero’s caricature likeness and delivered the redesigned ambulance to the Matero family.

In November 2019, Wade was re-evaluated and learned that he was mis-diagnosed. He did not have Peripheral Neuropathy after all. He learned that the numbness and tingling in his right hand was, instead, just a simple nerve compression.

Fast forward to late 2023. After (literally) 100’s of requests for watch and jewelry repair, Wade decided to re-enter the jewelry and watch repair business. Watch for our new mobile Repair Center coming soon…
